Description
Johnny ‘Guitar’ Byrne’s famous pink stage suit which was worn when he was a member of the group Rory Storm And The Hurricanes in the early 1960s. Ringo Starr was the drummer in the group at the time. The suit was purchased from Duncan Tailors, Liverpool, England in summer 1961. Each member of the Hurricanes wore an identical suit for their stage performances. Rory Storm wore a similarly styled suit in a different colour. Labelled ‘by DUNCAN Classic Tailors’ inside the jacket.
There is some wear to the cloth on the buttons, a hole at the bottom of the right arm with some wear to the cuff etc. The suit is accompanied by four modern photographic prints, three colour and one black and white, showing the group wearing the suits, two of the photos were taken at Duncan Tailors on the day the suits were purchased. The condition is very good.
